Dear Young American:
I loved being in your school and appreciate the response from
you and your fellow students.
In my assembly speech I use the letters in A M E R I C A to
represent certain qualities. These qualities provide you with the strength to
help this great nation. Decisions based on these qualities provide the solutions
to the problems of life. Most people want to blame others for their bad
decisions. To make good decisions we must first start with the most important
one. This decision takes a split second of time but will last forever. This
decision is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Please, let me explain.
When Christ died on the cross as a substitute for each one of
us, He solved our greatest problem. Our problem is that we were born spiritually
dead. We each inherited an old sin nature from our earthly fathers. We are
incapable of saving ourselves and nothing we can do will ever win favor with
God. That is why God in His wonderful grace sent His only begotten Son, born of
a virgin and without a human father as a substitute for each one of us. He died
spiritually and then physically on the cross, was placed three days in the tomb
and then rose again to ensure that the power that gave Him life again can be
ours by faith. God’s grace makes it so simple. When you believe and personally
accept what Christ did, you will have eternal life. (You can read more about
this gift in the following bible verses: Acts
16:31, Romans 5:12, Romans
3:23, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9 and1 John 5:13). All you have to do is tell God
right now that you believe in His Son, Jesus Christ and the gift of eternal life
is yours. When you believe, God provides you with spiritual life and you are
rewarded with your own personal sense of destiny.

However, faith in Jesus Christ and knowledge of His Word will give your life
purpose and direction. I know you and Christ can make a difference.
I salute you,
